Hello to all once again!

As some may know over the past few weeks, I have been revisiting my Jurassic Park Project and I've been delighted by some of my findings. I never realised how much detail I had thrust into it with pages and pages of sketches and plans and list and diagrams and all manner of nick-nacks! I also have been horrified by one major atrocity that simply cannot be forgotten.

But it happened that I did. I remembered late last night that I had written a story back in 2012 or 2013 so I would have been about 13 or 14 years old on the popular story sharing website, Wattpad. It then took me a millennium to remember my password, which was ridiculously trivial and something 13 yer old me would have thought was absolutely side splittingly hilarious!

*eye roll, deep sigh* So there's several things I've learnt from reading this story:

Number one, I simply could not write. Despite being top in my class for creative writing at the time, I have never read anything so atrociously written in my life. If it were a book, I would burn it. If it were an animal, I would put it out of its misery, its that bad! A common technique most story writers use is the show not tell method, where the writer discreetly drops hints as to the setting/topic/character etc. so that the reader can create some vision of the 'thing' and try and work it out themselves and add their own creative twist to it. OH NO! 2013/13 Jamie decided to use the 'BLURT OUT EVERY DETAIL ABOUT THE CHARACTER UPON MEETING THEM' method, which sadly *deep sarcasm* doesn't have the same effect!

Secondly, its practically the place where continuity errors come to die. A character can be doing something utterly mind numbing such as one case, where a character spends about half a chapter brushing her hair until I come back to mentioning her! I also really tend to develop horrendously two dimensional characters not mentioning their thoughts and feelings at all, only literally writing down their actions step by step. One character makes a coffee and I write out EACH INDIVIDUAL STEP OF HOW SHE MAKES IT. AND YES THIS IS ALL IN A DINOSAUR ZOO/SAFARI PARK/RESORT (whatever Jurassic Park comes under, idk for sure!). Another even says how boring it is to work there. IF I WORKED AT A DINOSAUR ZOO/SAFARI PARK/RESORT, I WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST PERSON ON EARTH. I WOULD TURN INTO ONE OF THOSE ALWAYS HAPPY DISNEY EMPLOYEE PEOPLE TELL YOU ABOUT, NOT MOPING AROUND!

And breath.

I must state now that I would never say of this to anyone else! As the great writer, Neil Gaiman once said you are your own worst critic and the only way that you can improve your writing, is by rereading after a long time away, stepping back and looking at the bigger picture and reading aloud!

To conclude, is going to be a much bigger job than I thought, not just a few sentence changes and rejiggery. Oh hella no! We're talking rewriting whole chapters (which were surprisingly short at the start?) to make them actually up to my now standard of writing. I'm going to actually give characters thoughts and feelings! Plus, being as I've lost my 'master plan' of the story, I have no clue where I'm going with it!

Heres the story if anyone is desparate to read it! It will be like this for a limited time while serious reconstructive work is done! www.wattpad.com/7730157-park-l…

Pangearas friends, do not fret! I have been working on some more pieces! Final touches are in the works as well as one I've started today which I love to bits! Expect an upload sometime this week.

Thanks all and do not fret in asking me anything about my questions and well as thoughts and critiques!

Thought I'd start with my favourite greeting!

Yet again comes the apology. I realise this is becoming a regular occurrence, not one bit, but I'm afraid life got well and truly in the way this time , deviants. I had a few pieces of work I deemed ready for upload, when life just throws your positivity back in your face. I lost someone very close to me and the blow was hard. So let's not dwell and turn this into a classic poor-little-me sob story! Because of this, I just wanted to pop a few things down to catch you up to where I'm currently bobbing in the sea of life.

So! As for my Pangearas project, Stal's said good bye to the fresh country views in exchange for the hustle and bustle of the big city. Redvale is where his grandparents live and where he'll stay for a month to prepare for the journey to Partnering School. It is known, as I've probably already said as the dinosaur capital of Cretacia because of the melting pots of cultures and dinosaur species that converge in its streets throughout the year. In drawing terms, I've done several sketches of the types of people and attire within the city itself but not too much on the actual buildings and layout of the city itself. Because of it being in the north of Cretacia its going to be quite mountainous, and apart from that I have only a few slim vague ideas in my head so as with much art, getting pen to paper and doing my image justice will be the hardest part. As for past stages, there's still a few illustrations from my most recent written piece to go up along the with a couple of Page dolls as requested by our leader, Pinerain *bows*

Reignited by the release of Jurassic World (which I have mixed feelings of) and the sketches of :icondontknowwhattodraw94: dontknowwhattodraw94's Jurassic World project, my passion for my own Jurassic Park inspired project has risen again. After nearly two years away from my eyes, I can see clearly how much effort and detail I put into it when I found a huge ringbinded folder full of ideas, drawings, diagrams and plans. This may take a little time away from Pangearas as its something I've wanted to do for a while but I really want to get through Stal's challenges so it might be little and often. I'm also considering some drawings of the Site B I started to concept (Isla Pena-Jiira according to 2012 Jamie?!) and possibly some 'draw it again' memes of the more cringeworthy drawings!

Lastly, to my Pangearas friends as well as any others who follow my work will know Fjord, Stal's blonde city bred younger sister who is up to date with all the latest fashion and trends in the city where she lives apart from her family to attend a school for the gifted. She's such a fun character to run with and when listening to some music the other day and listening even more closely to the lyrics, I was thinking of doing a side story of Fjord finding her first love. I realise its awful cheesy but something about it really appealed and     a friend from school read a short story I wrote last year about first loves (even though I haven't had one) and she really liked it. So thoughts and feelings please to all in the group and how to go about it and such!

And that's my life about up to date. It feels nicer to have this off my chest and out in the open!

Hope to speak to all soon!

Much thanks!
JP.    😁

Firstly I hope that all are well and I apologise that if you are having a nice day, you have to read this post from a usually cheery and chipper person.

After a long weekend of work and busy practical day at college, my Monday night tradition since I started has been to browse dA for new work I like and inspires me along with new artists I can talk to about artistry things like techinques, mediums and such. It gives me life for drawings I might want to do in the future, styles I want to experiment with and different directions I can take my art in in order to make it the best it can be.

So I opened my laptop today to find a single notification from a comment I had left on a piece of work from April two years ago. It was a exquisite drawing of a Kitsune. In Japanese mythology, their true form are a long slender vixen with nine tails that can change into human women interchangeably (please do correct me if I'm wrong!).
In reply to a positive comment I had written, exclaiming to the artist how much I 'loved' their drawings and that 'Kitsunes were my favourite Japanese mythological animal!!!' (It repulses me how many exclamation marks past me put ...).

Someone replied to that comment. I don't wish to name names because that would be childish. But their reply was 'Creature idiot.'. Firstly what gives them the right to define the difference between creature and animal? Are animals not creatures and vice versa? You can blend the categories as much as you want but a shapeshifting human fox pretty much fits either comfortably. The second aspect which grated on me was the 'idiot'. Why call someone an idiot without true reason. I could have been ten for all that user knows. He could have called a child an idiot just because of one mistaken word in a positive comment. It wasn't as even if I was saying anything abusive to the artist or criticising their work. I'd paid them a compliment and received an insult as thanks by another user. How anal must you need to be to criticize a generalised term and how sad a life that user must lead by getting their kicks out of insulting people. Its the same as me walking up to someone in the street, calling them an idiot and walking away.

I realise how anal I must sound myself the fact that it is the word idiot that has aggrevated me but I'm afraid its the little things after a while of build up that really tick me off.

And to be honest, deviants, I don't really care about people who have no works in their gallery, whilst there's so many amazing and talented artist who do.

JP :)

Sorry I just had to do that!

To all of my Pangearas friends,

:iconpinerain: :icondontknowwhattodraw94::iconcarmendoodle::iconicestormtundra::iconmorgandbz:

I hope you are all well and in the best of health (unlike I have been myself, explaining my absence) and that your lives are full of vibrant activity (as mine has also been. TOO MUCH. I SAY ENOUGH). I am here with a question which I extend to you all as well as varied suggestions to a few members.

Because of me now being on half term (like a week long break out of school time) and I've little to do with my friends either to far away or revising for exams (Which I don't have!), I'm completing a massive overhaul of my Pangearas project and I'm going to try as get as many ideas as I can from my head down on paper. Expect plenty of art this week. You have been warned.

I'm also at a point in Stal's story where he meets one of my current favourite side characters. But that's where my trouble is. The setting for the upcoming chapters are in the city of Redvale and I was thinking (after much Game of Thrones inspiration) to give some of my characters titles e.g Lord, Lady etc and houses and such. Cenezoica has their Nobles but I was unsure.

I wasn't sure if this would be canon so I thought it best to extend to the group. I never seem to catch the chat as the right times!

And some suggestions/heads up type things
:iconpinerain: I'd love to do a crossover with you but only if you're up to it. I feel like Ty and Stal would have some similarities to become friends and the interactions between the adamant Aries and the pretentious Rain would be hilarious.
:iconicestormtundra: I fancy illustrating our RP from fiveever ago.Thoughts? Hints?
:iconmorgandbz: Remember the art trade we were talking about from yonks ago? How about it?
:icondontknowwhattodraw94: I'm sure I'll think of something BUT KEEP PRODUCING YOUR MASTERPIECES.

I feel better now I have this out of my system. Ah, much better.

Thanks to all
JP :)

Tagged by my good friend :icondontknowwhattodraw94:

You can tell a lot about someone by the music they listen to.
Hit shuffle on your iPod/iTunes/media player/cellphone/mp3 player and then write the first ten songs.
Next pass it on to ten people!

1. Paloma Faith - Ready for the Good Life
2. Lenny Kravitz - Strut
3. Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl
4. The Killers - Miss Atomic Bomb
5. The Script - Good Ol' Days
6. Doris Troy - Just One Look
7. Lana Del Rey - Brooklyn Baby
8. Paloma Faith - Only Love Can Hurt Like This
9. Kate Nash - Kiss That Grrl
10. Iggy Azalea - Work (Clean)

Et voilà! now you can tell all about me ...
I'd love to chat about any of the artists too!

I tag anyone who wishes to do it! A bit lazy but most of my dA friends have been already tagged!
